MISS NADINE’S PRE-SCHOOL
This programme provides high quality early education, and a caring environment for up to sixty five students from 2-5 years of age; it is registered and inspected by the Education Department, as well as all other agencies required by Education.
Our curriculum is based on a developmental approach to education. It is designed to offer a wide assortment of age-appropriate activities to help children achieve the skills needed for personal development. The diverse experiences we provide will enhance the child’s knowledge as he/she grows spiritually, emotionally, socially, and physically in our care. The curriculum integrates language, math, science, music, movement, bible studies and art studies. Learning centres provide students with activities intended to develop independence, encourage creativity, enhance motor skills, and foster cooperation with others.
Fees are means tested based on income and are subsidised by the NCVO. Priority spaces are given to referrals from the Education Department, the Department of Children and Family Services, and the Early Intervention Programme. Several free spaces are given to children referred through the Ministry of Education
All children are provided with nutritional meals which include breakfast, cooked lunch and an afternoon snack.
THE JACK AND JILL NURSERY AND EARLY LEARNING CENTRE
This facility caters for infants from birth to two years and can care for a total of 14 babies and toddlers.
The aim of the nursery is to provide quality care, and a loving environment while keeping the fees at a manageable cost for low income families.
Every child at Jack and Jill Nursery is made to feel loved, accepted and emotionally secure in the care of our long time staff. In order to develop socially, emotionally, and cognitively a child needs to be around other children and adults. Whilst at our nursery school, the children learn to play with others, share, and learn how to develop friendships with the other children and adults that he/she is around. Every age child in our care is played with and sung to. When they reach the age that they are able to take part in our daily “lessons,” they will enjoy short stories and songs with the nursery staff. This will allow them to be ready for lesson time when they reach our pre-school, and will begin the good practice for later years as well.
