PURCHASING AND INSTALLING NEW ENERGY EFFICIENT A/C UNITS IN THE RICHARD ARCH CHILDREN’S CENTRE AND THE NADINE ANDREAS FOSTER HOME
We need to replace and upgrade the current R22 refrigerant systems. As of January 2010 all North
American air conditioning manufactures were required to begin phasing out the production of all R22 equipment to meet the environmental standard laws. We propose to replace the current air handlers and condensers with new high efficiency Lennox equipment which uses 410A refrigerant, repair exposed and damaged duct plenums in the attics and re-install three air handlers in the Foster Home in a horizontal or
up flow position. All systems would include Ultra Violet Air Purification Systems in the air handlers for improved Indoor Air Quality and to help prevent future mold growth.
The present cost of electrical utilities is approximately $2,500 per month per building, giving an annual cost of approximately $60,000. We aim to reduce our annual running costs for electricity by installing a more energy efficient system and to improve the air quality in both buildings.
The projected cost for the new systems, including installation is CI$65-70,000
